I was in my car on the way home from the barbershop this afternoon and I stumbled upon a song I hadn't heard in years. It was "Dance With Me" by Peter Brown (with Betty Wright). I'd heard it a grand total of 1 or 2 times many ions ago but never knew what it was called or who did it. When I heard it today, I heard those great chord changes in the chorus and was reminded of it again. I found the song and I've been grooving to it for a few hours now.
For those who know about him, where do I go next with him?

Ed, I'd probably get "Do You want To Get Funky With Me" the original issue. A friend gave me a pile of records and that was one of them. The original has a picture of a woman in silhoutte, the Collectables edition changed the artwork. Given the relatively early timeframe, the vinyl is going to be nice.
I liked the whole album. My favorite is "For Your Love." I was really knocked out by it, heard it somewhere and was surprised that it was Peter Brown. Thought it was a guy named Blair, he had a similiar sound. It's a good, mellow track, nice sound. "Dance With Me" is just great song, liked it way back when. It's shown up on a few compilations, I had it on a Priority one from the early '90s. Surprisingly good sound.
I've heard a few of his songs after that, but it didn't make much of an impression. He did co-write Madonna's "Material Girl."

I've had a couple of T.K. albums and they both sounds pretty good. I saw a few of these on eBay. Maybe I'll snap one up.

I discovered that Brown was actually nominated for and R&B vocal for the song. I don't know that it's a Grammy-worthy performance but it's pretty darned good. Deceptively high too.

I was rather surprised when I learned that. I've always found that track to be rather disposable - especially when stacked up against "Dance With Me". He mentioned that he wrote it specifically for her and clearly, he did that.

I just learned something else. It turns out Brown no longer makes music at all. He's currently doing design work in various mediums and he got out of music because he developed acute Tinnitus, which of course makes listening to much more than conversation virtually impossible.
I just found a really nice LP and I've ordered it. Hopefully, I'll have it shortly. I can't wait. Thanks again, Z. Your advice has always been invaluable.

Thanks Ed that's very kind. I know you'll like the LP, the original album is the way to go with this title. Now I have to find mine Sorry to hear about Brown and his Tinnitus...
